Description:

Existing Internet routing architecture is known to suffer from suboptimal routing scalability.  This technology introduces a new approach to telecommunications network design. First, it presents an addressing scheme which depends only on geographic position of network nodes.  The technology can be used in any telecommunication network in which information on geolocation of nodes is available.  Additionally, the technology establishes a network topology construction/network design scheme based on this addressing scheme that reproduces key properties of the existing Internet topology.  Lastly, the technology introduces an efficient routing algorithm for these topology and addressing schemes, which is shown to be maximally scalable and efficient.
